Mazda will recall its former Tribute crossover for problems with corrosion. Mazda says that 2001-2004 Tributes that operate in salt-belt-states for extended time periods are prone to excessive corrosion of the front subframe. Over time, exposure to road rock salt, calcium and magnesium chloride as well as liquid sodium, all of which are used during winter to clear roadways of ice and snow, forms a solution that eats away at the subframe, resulting in the possibility of... Mazda dealers will inspect owner's vehicles for subframe condition, if the lower control arm is either separated from the subframe or found to be close to separating, dealers will install a new subframe and reinforcement cross-brace to ensure... If the subframe is found to be intact and in good condition, dealers will install just the cross brace to ensure steering control in the event of the lower control arms separating. Mazda has a reimbursement plan in place in the event you have already paid for the subframe to be replaced on your vehicle. However, if you bought your vehicle recently either from a dealer or private individual, Mazda may not yet have your contact info, so call your local Mazda dealer with your vehicle's VIN. Man resists arrest, gets pepper sprayed - Chatham This Week

CK police say they were forced to use pepper spray to apprehend a man who became assaultive towards officers during an incident in Wallaceburg Tuesday night. At around 10:20 p. m. , officers located an intoxicated man near the field house at Steinhoff Park. Police arrested the man for being intoxicated in a public place. While being escorted to the cruiser, the man became resistant, police said. The man allegedly tried to head-butt the officers and began kicking his legs violently striking both officers. In an effort to gain control of the man, the officers were forced to pepper spray him. A 45 year-old Walpole Island man was charged with assault with intent to resist arrest. Man charged with assault. A 20-year-old Chatham man faces several charges after going to his girlfriend's home in an intoxicated state at around 1 a. m. Wednesday.
