Man resists arrest, gets pepper sprayed - Chatham This Week

CK police say they were forced to use pepper spray to apprehend a man who became assaultive towards officers during an incident in Wallaceburg Tuesday night. At around 10:20 p. m. , officers located an intoxicated man near the field house at Steinhoff Park. Police arrested the man for being intoxicated in a public place. While being escorted to the cruiser, the man became resistant, police said. The man allegedly tried to head-butt the officers and began kicking his legs violently striking both officers. In an effort to gain control of the man, the officers were forced to pepper spray him. A 45 year-old Walpole Island man was charged with assault with intent to resist arrest. Man charged with assault. A 20-year-old Chatham man faces several charges after going to his girlfriend's home in an intoxicated state at around 1 a. m. Wednesday. Police said the man refused and allegedly assaulted the woman. Officers located the man outside the residence and he was charged with assault. Source: www.chathamthisweek.com
