Andalusia men arrested near Auburn after meth, gun found in car - WSFA
Two Andalusia residents are facing drug trafficking and other criminal charges after being arrested in Lee County Thursday. Deputies with the Lee County Sheriff's Office took Thomas Jeffery Meeks, 49, and Todd Jay Dearden, 48, into custody around 4:15 a. m. after a traffic stop. The deputies pulled over the vehicle, a 1993 Mitsubishi Eclipse as it traveled down Interstate 85 through Auburn. After searching the car and men, deputies found a handgun, marijuana and methamphetamine. Authorities say the meth totaled more than 158 grams and had a street value of around $18,000. Meeks is charged with drug trafficking methamphetamine and possession of marijuana in the first degree. Dearden is charged with drug trafficking methamphetamine and unlawful possession of a concealed weapon. Source: www.wsfa.com
