Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – A North Country man with a long criminal history is the suspect in a chase that drew Onondaga County Sheriff’s Deputies across Syracuse after a hotel robbery, according to a Watertown television station. Patrick Ashley, who was taken into custody last night after a chase that ended in a crash that hospitalized a husband and wife, is also suspected of holding up a Chase Bank location on 7th North Street in the town of Salina. Following the Wednesday chase, the Sheriff's Office charged Ashley with first-degree robbery, first-degree assault, second-degree unlawful fleeing a police officer. Deputies also arrested him on an additional charge of first-degree robbery in connection with the Chase Bank robbery. The Deputy reportedly spotted a vehicle matching the description of the suspect's maroon Ford Taurus and tried to pull him over near the Pilot gas station on 7th North. When the suspect refused to pull over, Deputies chased him along Court Street until losing him among the North Side's cross streets. Source: www.localsyr.com
