Burleson boy with autism dies after wandering into hot car - FOX 4 News

A 5-year-old boy died, Sunday afternoon, a short time after he was found in a hot car. The child’s father told police he could not find his son Zachary Elshaarawy, who has autism and doesn’t speak clearly. His father says Zachary climbed into his mother’s car which was parked out front of his grandparents’ home, where he was staying. After police and a dozen citizens searched the home, the area around the lake and along Hwy 174, Zachary was located. He was found in the backseat passenger side of his mother’s 1998 Ford Taurus, parked in the street in front of the home, by an officer. Police say he wandered from the home and got into the car on his own. The boy was taken to Cook Children’s with CPR in progress at 2:05 p. m. His father says he died a short time later. Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – A North Country man with a long criminal history is the suspect in a chase that drew Onondaga County Sheriff’s Deputies across Syracuse after a hotel robbery, according to a Watertown television station. Patrick Ashley, who was taken into custody last night after a chase that ended in a crash that hospitalized a husband and wife, is also suspected of holding up a Chase Bank location on 7th North Street in the town of Salina. Following the Wednesday chase, the Sheriff's Office charged Ashley with first-degree robbery, first-degree assault, second-degree unlawful fleeing a police officer. Deputies also arrested him on an additional charge of first-degree robbery in connection with the Chase Bank robbery. The Deputy reportedly spotted a vehicle matching the description of the suspect's maroon Ford Taurus and tried to pull him over near the Pilot gas station on 7th North. When the suspect refused to pull over, Deputies chased him along Court Street until losing him among the North Side's cross streets. Source: www.localsyr.com

Ashley, 43, of 418 Montgomery St. , is charged with second-degree fleeing a police officer, first-degree assault and two counts of first-degree robbery. Ashley is the son of Republican mayoral candidate and Ogdensburg City Councilor Wayne L. Ashley. 12 at a Chase Bank located at 424 Seventh North St. in the town of Salina, Mr. Ashley passed a note to the teller indicating that he was armed with a handgun and demanded money. Sheriff’s Detective Jon A. Seeber said they released a description of the suspect and a description of a maroon sedan in which the suspect was seen driving away. On Wednesday, Mr. Ashley returned to the same neighborhood at about 6:03 p. m. , where he attempted to rob the Hampton Inn located at 417 Seventh North St. , across the street from the Chase Bank, Mr. Seeber said. Ashley demanded money from an employee at the hotel while threatening that he was armed with a handgun, detectives said. Ashley was last seen leaving the hotel parking lot in a maroon Ford Taurus, one that matched the description of the vehicle from the robbery at Chase Bank. “Based on the investigation conducted by detectives, they used surveillance that was used as evidence and could see from the video that the individual was this person,” Mr. Seeber said.
