Police: Two killed in Arnold crash - CapitalGazette.com

Police said Valencia was driving a 1997 Nissan Sentra south on Route 2 when he turned left at College Parkway, failing to obey a red left turn signal arrow, into the path of a 1999 GMC Suburban driven by Nossick. The GMC struck the passenger side of the Nissan, causing it to overturn, police said. The vehicles eventually came to rest after the GMC pushed the Nissan sideways out of the intersection and into the traffic signal support pole. Nossick, who was ejected, was taken by ambulance to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore with critical injuries, police said. The cause of the collision appears to be the failure of Valencia to obey the red left turn signal arrow, police said. Alcohol use by Valencia also appears to be a contributing factor, police said. Early Tuesday morning, a 25-year-old Annapolis man was critically injured in a single car crash on Shore Acres Road, police said. Eric Angelo Tyler was driving a 1996 Mercedes E-320 north on Shore Acres Road when it left the roadway at Four Acres Court, struck and severed a utility pole, and overturned, police said. After Tyler was removed from the car, he was flown by helicopter to Shock Trauma, police said. Police said excessive speed appears to be a factor in the crash. Source: www.capitalgazette.com
