Police release sketch of suspect in Willowbrook home invasion - Chicago Sun-Times

Police are asking for the public’s help in finding a man suspected of beating, stabbing and robbing a 26-year-old woman during a home invasion Saturday afternoon in southwest suburban Willowbrook. Investigators released a sketch Sunday of the man, who forced his way into the woman’s home in the 700 block of 73rd Court about 1 p. m. and beat and stabbed her multiple times, according to Willowbrook police. The woman told detectives that she was unloading her vehicle in the driveway when a dark brown or blue, older-model Nissan Altima pulled up, and a man got out and asked for money. She refused and went inside, but the man went to a side door on the home and knocked, asking to use the phone, police said. Anyone with information is asked to call police at (630) 325-2808 or (630) 325-2121. Willowbrook residents are also asked to call 911 if they see any suspicious people or vehicles in their neighborhood. Source: chicago.suntimes.com

Driver arrested after fleeing head-on collision - The San Diego Union-Tribune

California Highway Patrol officers arrested a driver on suspicion of felony hit and run and driving on a suspended license early Wednesday after a head-on collision in Dehesa left a 22-year-old man hospitalized with major injuries. The 20-year-old driver was heading east on Dehesa Road west of Sloane Canyon Road around 3:40 a. m. when he lost control of his 2014 Nissan Altima going too fast on a curve, said CHP Officer Kevin Pearlstein. The Altima swerved into the path of a Honda heading west. The 43-year-old driver of the Honda, who had just gotten off work at the Sycuan casino, had no time to react and the vehicles collided head-on, Pearlstein said. The Altima's driver ran away from the crash site but was soon located by an officer from the Sycuan Police Department. Source: www.sandiegouniontribune.com

19-year-old in serious condition after crash, car fire in Woodbridge - FOX CT

WOODBRIDGE–The Woodbridge police and fire departments are investigating after a car fire left one person seriously injured. Saturday morning around 3:56 a. m. police responded to reports of an accident near the corner of Baldwin Road and Greenway Road. When officers arrived at the scene, they found a 2014 Nissan Altima on fire, and the driver was unresponsive. The Woodbridge Fire Department responded and extinguished the car fire. The investigation has so far revealed that Proto was driving south on Baldwin Road when he went off the road and hit a tree at the intersection. Source: foxct.com
