Family, SAPD seeking clues in woman's 1980 disappearance - KSAT San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO - At just 19, Beatrice Villela -- "BB," as her sisters called her -- knew what she wanted to do with her life. Villela's father reported her missing. "I remember my dad screaming, cursing, yelling over the phone to the police department, telling them, ‘What do you mean you can't do anything. No one has seen her now for almost 48 hours,'" said Mary Helen Coronado, Villela's sister. Sadly enough, it just got quiet because there was nothing else we could do. ". When Villela was reported missing, there was no sign of foul play. San Antonio police took a report, but there was no search effort. In fact, this is the first time Villela's disappearance has ever been discussed publicly. Villela's last week was a busy one. She was planning to make a trip to Chicago to see her sister and attend a show for hair stylists Oct. She checked in with her sister, making plans for the trip. She thought maybe she could pursue her profession," said Sylvia DeMareno, Villela's sister. Villela offered to pick up her niece and nephew Sunday. "When I came home late that Sunday night, the kids were still here and Mary Helen said (Beatrice) didn't pick them up. I said (that) maybe she (had gotten) busy or something. We didn't think about calling her," said Thelma Frias, Villela's sister. By Monday, the sisters knew something was wrong. "I got the phone call from my cousin saying she didn't show up at the shop. Retired pastor's 1980 Cadillac stolen 5 times in 5 years - KSAT San Antonio

Edward Moore shook his head in disbelief as he waited at the Growden Road city impound lot to recover his 1980 Cadillac DeVille, which he said has been stolen five times since 2010. "The car is 35 years old, but it's all I got," Moore said. "But when you wake up five times and it's gone, that's just too much," Moore said. A spokeswoman for the San Antonio Police Department said the same vehicle being stolen and recovered five times actually is not that unusual since the thefts occurred over a five-year time span. Yet, Moore said he's not only worried about his predicament, he's also concerned for his neighbors. Moore said he's been using a screwdriver to start his car ever since the steering column he'd paid several hundred dollars to replace was smashed open yet again. He said this time, when the vehicle was stolen Friday, it had a full tank of gas, but was empty when it was found the next day. It proved a major complication when Moore tried to get his car out of the impound at a cost of $268. Luckily, he had a credit card to pay the tow truck driver to take the car to a nearby gas station. Search continues for SA teen missing nearly 9 years - KSAT San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO - In the fall of 2006, Jennifer Apreciado was living her life like most 17-year-olds. "She was excited about a Halloween party," said her sister, Lisa. Jennifer never made it to that party. She was not that kind of girl to up and leave and not communicate," said Lisa. "Someone out there has to know something," said Martinez. Jennifer Apreciado left her boyfriend's home on the 200 block of Arizona headed for a bus stop near Wall and General McMullen. "She said that a vehicle was following her and she was scared. She noticed the same vehicle driving by slowly, circling the block," said Martinez. Her boyfriend told police he tried calling Apreciado about an hour later. He said a strange woman answered the phone and said she had found it. Apreciado wasn't around. At 4 feet 8 inches tall and weighing around 95 pounds, it would have been difficult for Apreciado to put up a fight against someone taking her against her will. If that's what happened to her, there's something else about her disappearance that concerns police. "The fact that she disappeared in the afternoon – (in) broad daylight – and she hasn't been seen again," said Martinez.
