DETROIT -- With three engines -- including a Cummins diesel V-8 -- two frame sizes and three bed lengths, the redesigned Titan coming this fall is Nissan Motor Corp. The revamped pickup, unveiled today at the Detroit auto show , is intended to make the Titan appealing to a wider audience, from construction workers to suburbanites. Nissan, only the second Japanese automaker to field a big truck after Toyota, sold fewer than 13,000 Titans last year, and faces a wave of revamped and improved competitors from the Detroit 3. Ford Motor Co. , General Motors and FCA have long... Nissan captured less then 1 percent of the U. S. market for full-size pickups last year. The 2016 Titan will be the nameplate’s first redesign as Ghosn presses the automaker to boost U. S. market share across the board. The pickup will come in two sizes -- the Titan and the Titan XD. The Titan XD Crew Cab, which will be the first to reach the market late this year, will have a 5. 0-liter V-8 Cummins diesel engine that produces 310 hp at 3,200 rpm and 555... Many fish die after being released in tournament - The Tennessean

Bass fishing tournaments are more popular than ever and in full swing on Midstate waters. But even the best efforts by competitive anglers to keep fish alive long enough for them to be weighed often fail. Dozens of dead bass were found washed ashore the following day after the Triton Owners Tournament, which took place on Kentucky Lake out of Paris Landing earlier this month. “The next morning I counted 53 dead fish,” said Sam Lashlee, a professional guide on Kentucky Lake. “This doesn’t really shed a good light on tournament bass fishing. Lashlee said he contacted tournament officials and they assured him proper measures were taken by the anglers to keep the fish they caught alive before being released. Rough conditions on the lake during the tournament, which created waves up to 5 feet, Lashlee said, likely stressed the fish that were caught and placed in live wells. “The problem was the fish had just started coming off beds when they’re fragile at that time. Midstate fishing report: Water levels return to normal - The Tennessean

In an effort to report the most up-to-date information on fishing in the Midstate, The Tennessean has asked for contributions from several avid anglers. • Brian Carper guide service on Percy Priest: Finally, the water is almost back down to summer pool at 490 feet above sea level. The bass continue to bite in 10-20 feet of water on crank baits and June bug soft plastic worms and black/blue crawfish (1/4-ounce shaky heads and 5/16-ounce swing head jigs). During the majority of our trips last week we fished up-lake on ledges, drops and points. As for the crappie, they continue to bite around brush piles in 10-20 feet of water in mid-lake. Live minnows and Crappie Magnets have been the most productive. • On Old Hickory: With the gates open at the dam and the water flowing down from Cordell Hall, the water temperature is 66-69 degrees in the main channel. With the cooler water in the main channel, the deeper bite has slowed down a little. However, once you navigate outside of the main channel, the creeks and pockets are still at their normal temperatures in the 80s. Plum-colored plastic worms, black/blue crawfish and deep crank baits have been productive in 3-15 feet of water on... The Snow Spin 1-1/2-ounce and 2-ounce spinner baits with purple skirt and gold blade seem to be working best right now. Source: www.tennessean.com
