Olender had a learner's permit but not a valid driver's license, said William Seymour, spokesman for the state Department of Motor Vehicles. Olender's mother, Angelina Olender, said state police informed her about her daughter's death Tuesday afternoon while she was stuck in traffic on I-84 due to the fatal crash. She said that she'd had a FaceTime call with her daughter at about 2:30 p. m. , but that she did not know where her daughter was going at the time of the accident. The accident was reported cleared about 7:30 p. m. Angelina Olender said state police told her it would take about two months to reconstruct the accident and determine the cause.
