Plant keeps churning as Hyundai sets record - Montgomery Advertiser

Hyundai Motor America followed its best-ever July sales month with a record August, the company announced this week. The company’s North American sales jumped 3 percent over last August thanks in part to gains for its SUV and CUV models. Santa Fe sales rose 30 percent year-over-year, and Tucson sales were up more than 25 percent, Hyundai reported. Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama helped beef up dealer stock by churning out a plant record of nearly 38,000 vehicles in July. Despite the popularity of its sedans, Hyundai sees SUV and CUV production as its biggest potential for sales growth. HMA announced Wednesday that former Nissan executive Derrick Hatami has joined the company as its vice president of national sales. “He set sales records with us and in his former positon and we look forward to him continuing that run at Hyundai,” HMA president and CEO Dave Zuchowski said. Zuchowski was HMA’s vice president of national sales before becoming the company’s president. Source: www.montgomeryadvertiser.com
