2013 Infiniti M56x review notes - AutoWeek

Curbside, this car looks muscular and cat-like to me. Maybe it's the bulbous fenders. The big wheels fill out the wheel wells and the rear looks sleek without taking up too much room inside. I would, however, take it over a competing Lexus. EXECUTIVE EDITOR BOB GRITZINGER: I think Jake is on target: The competition for this Infiniti is Lexus, because I'm not sure one would choose this over the German makes. It's too bad, because the car has real promise in a big honkin' V8 and all-wheel drive, sharp styling with its pronounced front fenders, and a nip/tuck interior with a top-notch control interface. NEWS EDITOR GREG MIGLIORE: The 2013 Infiniti M56x is a bit of a mixed-bag. First off: it's a hell of a nice car -- powerful and sexy inside and out. Like others, I wouldn't take this over almost anything German as a result of the large, almost floaty driving dynamics and so-so steering. I like the weight of the steering. I don't like exactly how that weight feels to the driver. The powertrain feels a bit awkward, as well, with jerky motions occurring when operating the throttle. For the price and the on-road character, I would choose a Jaguar XF, Mercedes-Benz E-class or BMW 5-series. It's a good-looking. Source: autoweek.com
