S. vehicle sales for the month of August, marking the 65th consecutive month of year-over-year sales... Total car sales for the month of August decreased 10 percent to 38,504 units, while total truck sales increased 5 percent to 163,168 units from the same period last year. The sales growth was attributable to Jeep, Fiat, and Ram Truck brands posting sales increases in August, with eight FCA US vehicles, including Jeep Wrangler, Jeep Cherokee, Jeep Patriot and Jeep Compass, setting all-time monthly sales records. The Jeep Brand led the sales increase with a 18 percent increase to 80,804 units from last year, the best sales month ever. Sales were driven by a 58 percent sales growth for Jeep Compass and a 21 percent sales growth for Jeep Patriot.
