Exclusive Photos: 2015 Lexus RC F Poses With LFA, IS F, SC 400 - MotorTrend Magazine

The idea of a Lexus performance car would have baffled enthusiasts of 20 years ago, but after a recent shift in priorities at the brand, today the words "performance" and "Lexus" are no longer mutually exclusive terms. Motor Trend had the rare opportunity to gather four of the cars that helped Lexus become a legitimate performance automaker for a photo shoot. One of them is the brand's latest effort, the 2015 Lexus RC F. One of Lexus' first attempts at producing a sporty model, the SC 400, is among the cars posing in the photos. Later, an SC 300 model sporting the naturally aspirated 2JZ 3. 0-liter I-6 from the Toyota Supra arrived. The SC was quick for its day with the V-8, and you could even get the six-cylinder model with a (rare) five-speed manual transmission until 1997. The SC laid the groundwork for performance-oriented Lexus cars, but a serious follow-up would have to... The IS F arrived on the scene in 2008 packing a 5. 0-liter V-8 engine producing 416 hp and 371 lb-ft of torque, and was followed up by the two-door 2015 Lexus RC F that's front and center in the photos. Of course, we can't forget the ultra-limited, ultra-expensive LFA, which is sandwiched between the IS F and RC F in Lexus' history. Source: www.motortrend.com
