Fernandina Beach couple getting another Miata Launch Edition after first one ... - Florida Times-Union

Tom Bush Mazda has teamed up with Mazda to provide over-the-top customer service for a Fernandina Beach couple, whose 2016 MX-5 Miata was heavily damaged in an accident less than a mile from the dealership. The husband and wife, who chose not to be identified, proudly drove away with a new Grand Touring Launch Edition on Saturday, July 18. The two-seat convertible was one of only four pre-ordered models delivered to Jacksonville. Just two blocks down the road from Tom Bush Mazda on Atlantic Boulevard, a Ford F-150 crashed into the rear of the Soul Red roadster and shoved it into the car ahead of it. The impact caused the unibody to bend and left the vehicle heavily damaged... “BAM, BAM, and our beautiful new LE was no more,” the owner wrote in a post on a Miata. Four cars were involved in the accident, which sent three people to the hospital with minor injuries, including the owner’s wife. “The dealership contacted us and it was at that point that we made the decision that it was really the right thing to do — to find a new Launch Edition for this customer if we could,” Nick Beard, a Mazda PR specialist at Mazda North American... The responsible party’s insurance will cover the cost of the wrecked Miata, and the identical replacement car will be purchased. Source: jacksonville.com
