Elderly man killed in collision with tractor - Daily Journal Online
An elderly man was killed Friday morning in an 6:38 a. m. collision involving a car and a tractor on Route U, five miles east of Belleview in Iron County. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred when the rear of slow-moving westbound 2003 Case International farm tractor pulling a trailer was hit from behind by a 1999 Mazda 626 driven by Everett J. Nichols, 77, of... The tractor was driven by driven by Larry C. Gilmore, 63, of Ironton. Nichols was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:50 a. m. by Iron County Coroner Tony Cole who transported the body to his office in Ironton. MSHP said Nichols was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident. If you are involved in an accident take these steps: Call 9-1-1. Check to see if anyone needs assistance.
