Mercedes C Class wins World Car of the Year - NEWS.com.au

The Mercedes-Benz C Class sedan has beaten the Ford Mustang and new Volkswagen Passat to take out the 2015 World Car of the Year, global motoring’s biggest prize. It doesn’t mean the Mercedes-Benz C Class is the world’s top-selling vehicle (that gong goes to the Toyota Corolla ) but it does mean the German sedan has won the praise of 75 motoring experts from 22 countries, the largest award of its type. The announcement at the New York motor show overnight follows similar accolades in most countries where the vehicle is sold, including Australia, where Mercedes-Benz’s mid-size sedan took top honours in News Corp’s most recent Carsguide Car of the... As a sign of shifting market trends, the Mercedes-Benz C Class is in fact the second best-selling medium-sized sedan in Australia so far this year, behind the Toyota Camry and ahead of the Mazda6, Subaru Liberty and Honda Accord, among others. It is the first time in the 11-year history of the World Car of the Year award that Mercedes-Benz has taken out the top prize.
