Island Police Log: Man with shotgun sought - Mount Desert Islander

TREMONT — Police officers from four agencies responded Sunday to a report of an intoxicated man on the Burnt Hill Road firing a shotgun in an unsafe manner. According to the primary investigating agency, the Hancock County Sheriff’s Department, the man sped off from the scene upon the arrival of Deputy Dana Austin and later abandoned the vehicle before fleeing on foot. Despite a search by sheriff’s deputies and officers with the Maine State Police and police departments in Mount Desert and Southwest Harbor, the suspect was not immediately located. Domenick Barnes, 29, of Tremont was summonsed Saturday on a charge of violating the conditions of his release after a sheriff’s deputy responded to an altercation on the Tremont Road. 4 on a charge of disorderly conduct following a suspected road rage incident at the intersection of Eden and Mount Desert streets. His bus pulled in front of another vehicle when turning left on Mount Desert Street.
