Out of operation since November 2014, the DoubleTree is owned and managed by Cooper Hotels in Memphis, Tenn. The property has a redesigned exterior and lobby, updated and expanded meeting spaces, new furniture, a renovated atrium and upgraded guest rooms. Features include in-room additions such as safes and mini-refrigerators, as well as an indoor/outdoor pool and sun deck, 24-hour fitness and business centers, and free Wi-Fi in public areas and guest rooms. Cooper Hotels has owned the property, which was a Pavilion Inn before becoming Holiday Inn in 1973, for more than 40 years. The property has been under construction since spring 2013. Last renovated in 2005, the hotel operates Decatur's largest meeting, banquet and event venue with 8,901 square feet of meeting space and a 4,300-square-foot ballroom.
