Willie Green, 27, of the 1500 block of Westhampton Trace, was also charged with second-degree assault, leaving the scene of an accident and two counts of armed criminal action. Charges say Green had more than twice the legal limit of alcohol in his system when he lost control of a Mercedes while heading north on Jefferson Avenue about 9:30 p. m. He ran a red light at Chouteau Avenue and struck a Mitsubishi Lancer that... Green’s Mercedes was traveling at least 55 mph in a 35 mph zone. Xander Wohlstadter, 20, of St. Louis, was driving the Lancer and was killed. Green jumped out of his vehicle and ran from the crash, police said. Officials said it took months for toxicology and DNA test results. Those results showed Green’s blood alcohol content at. 162 percent. Green also has a pending 2014 misdemeanor charge in St. Clair County of driving on a suspended license. Court records say Green has no prior felonies. Wohlstadter’s father, Michael Wohlstadter, 51, said he was relieved that charges had come after the eight-month-long investigation. Casey, now 17 and a Webster Groves High School senior, said Friday she hoped the case served as a warning about the perils of drunken driving but doubted it had taught Green a lesson.
