Woman injured in Loop 375 crash remains in hospital - KFOX El Paso

EL PASO, Texas - A portion of Loop 375 in far east El Paso was closed for several hours Wednesday as authorities investigated a multivehicle crash. The crash happened around 7:33 a. m. when a 2006 Hyundai Elantra southbound on Loop 375 near Montwood was struck by a 2014 Ford F350 truck also heading south. El Paso police said the crash caused a chain reaction that included two other vehicles. When police investigators arrived at the scene, the driver of the Hyundai, a 23-year-old woman, had life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Ford F350, 54-year-old Julian Carrizal, failed to control his speed and struck the rear of the woman's s car, investigators said. Ashley Chavez, the driver of the Nissan Sentra involved in the second crash, had non-life threatening injuries. Guadalupe Asencio, the driver of the fourth vehicle involved in the crash, did not have any injuries.
