From October 2014 to March 2015, Odessa Fire/Rescue responded to four dehydration calls, yet those calls increased to 10 from April to July of this year. However, that number is down from April to July of 2014, as the department responded to 12 dehydration calls in that time of last year. When firefighters first arrive on scene, they check on a patient’s vital signs, which reveal to first responders if he or she is dehydrated, and then the person is hydrated in the ambulance.
