Rear Seat Delete
The Scion FR-S / Subaru BRZ (Toyota 86) rear seat deletion kit from Shrader Performance is made from heat-formed ABS plastic and covered in matching black automotive carpet, this kit provides hidden storage space under the lower panels, drops 23 lbs overall from the car, and still provides easy access to the trunk by laying the rear panel down. This is one of our more complex designs, with 4 separate panels included. Includes sound deadening to dampen road noise.
The RSD kit is removable when needed. NO WOOD is used in this unit, so no warping boards, or stinky wood panels that absorb moisture. Hardware and detailed instructions included. We use factory holes for mounting. No drilling or cutting. The panels are strong enough to hold luggage, and substantial weight when it is spread out across the panels. Panels are strongest in the center of the car over the transmission tunnel, so its best to place heavy weight in the center if possible. Due to this reason, it is not recommended to put medium to large animals on the panel as they can shift their weight to the outside edges.
Sound insulation is now STANDARD on all kits! This adds insulation attached to the back of the trunk access panel, and additonal padding under the lower panels.
The back section that separates the trunk can be taken down in seconds for carrying large objects through the trunk. Simply pop the 4 push pins out at the top and the panel comes down. One of the photos shows the panel laying down on the lower panels for easy storage.
