2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 - The Advocate

Combine the performance capabilities of this truck with its well-executed cabin, and the 2015 Silverado keeps its reputation as a well-built truck. Last year’s model was named the 2014 North American Truck of the Year, and Chevy is hoping for a repeat this year. The full-sized pickup truck segment is hotly contested, and manufacturers covet truck honors in events around the country. The 2015 Silverado 1500 comes in regular cab, double cab and crew cab body styles, all offered with 4WD. Trims include Work Truck (WT), LS, LT, LTZ and High Country. The short bed on the Regular Cab is 6-foot-6 and the long bed has an 8-foot box. Double cabs have a 6-foot-6 box, and Crew Cabs are available with a 5-foot-8 box or a 6-foot-6 box. The EZ lift and lower locking tailgate on the Silverado was a breeze to operate with one hand. Our test truck for the week was the LTZ Crew Cab with a Z71 package with 4WD. We didn’t have the opportunity to sling a lot of mud with our test truck, but the Z71 package adds off-road suspension components that enable the Silverado to take on... 3-liter V6 engine delivers 285 horsepower and a respectable 305 lb. -ft. of torque, which is enough for most light duty truck chores.
