Scion's iA delivers impressive value, zoom-zoom handling - Chron.com

The 2016 Scion iA is the Toyota division's first sedan and is expected to land in showrooms in September. Toyota has come up with a new take on Scion's venerable "pure price" strategy called Pure Process&. While buying a Scion won't be as painless as buying a $300 radio-controlled Lexus RC F off Amazon. In theory, the price - which may be under or exceed the manufacturer's suggested retail price - will make the transaction transparent and prevent the grueling four-hour ordeals that can give renegade dealers a sleazy reputation. Every iA comes with standard rear-view backup camera, seven-inch multimedia system with voice recognition, remote keyless entry, cruise control, push-button start, power windows and door locks and low-speed pre-collision system. The six-speaker infotainment system has Bluetooth hands-free phone and streaming audio, Aha, Sticher and Pandora integration, text-message feature with compatible phones, dual USB ports, HD radio and audio controls on the tilt/telescopic steering... Observers approaching the iA from the front are greeted by a yawning grille area, which dominates the "face" of the 2,385-pound car. It seems even the furthermost branches of the Toyota family tree must bear the Toyota/Lexus design language, and in this application the iA's mug looks like a cross between a large-mouth bass and a dust buster.
