Man, 22, credited with helping to apprehend suspect after horrific crash - Chron.com

Sean Allison felt electrified a few weeks ago when he bought a 2007 Crown Victoria that had once served as a police squad car. Yet Allison said the aging car stood as a constant reminder of his dream since age 9, when he saw the Twin Towers come down: To be a police officer. Authorities credit Allison with helping police apprehend a man suspected of causing an alcohol-related collision Sunday night on U. S. 59 that killed a young mother and father while their young children were strapped in the back seat. Police have identified the suspect as 23-year-old Alejandro Guzman-Lopez , who now faces charges of intoxication manslaughter and failure to stop and render aid. Allison recalled that he came upon the scene and heard bystanders screaming: "Stop that man. The crash had killed Brad Frazier , a former Splendora firefighter, and his wife, Shea, both 21. Their young daughters, a 2-year-old and 6-week-old infant, not only lost their parents, but were treated for injuries. After hearing the bystanders' screams, Allison noticed a man running fast from the accident scene. Allison, a 22-year-old ranch hand, was traveling in his own car along First Street, which parallels the freeway and railroad tracks, when the suspect dashed across his path. Source: www.chron.com
