Bailey, Woolsey Nominated To Fill Vacant Circuit Court Judge Seat - Greeneville Sun

Judge Kenneth Bailey Jr. and Greeneville lawyer Linda Thomas Woolsey are under consideration by Gov. Bill Haslam for the Circuit Court vacancy in the 3rd Judicial District. Morristown lawyer Beth Boniface is also a candidate. Interviews of seven applicants were conducted Wednesday at a General Morgan Inn conference room by the Governor's Council for Judicial Applicants. After interviewing each candidate, the panel chose Bailey, Woolsey and Boniface as nominees. The Circuit Court vacancy was created by the death last November of Judge Michael Faulk. The council, comprised of lawyers from across the state, conducted a vote after interviews of each candidate were concluded. The 3rd Judicial District includes Greene, Hamblen, Hancock and Hawkins counties. The other candidates for the judicial position were Douglas R. Beier, of Morristown. Both Bailey and Woolsey spoke of their experience and commitment to the law during interview sessions with the 10 council members present. Bailey has been Greene County General Sessions and Juvenile Court judge since 2006.
