The change is a big one for Goggin, who has lived in Le Sueur since 1976, managing Joe Hick’s Trucking in town before joining the school district. “If there’s a time to leave maybe now is it, and give other people a chance to try things,” he said. “I’m still going to call Le Sueur home, and plan on coming back to visit. Grand Rapids is located in northern Minnesota between Duluth and Bemidji, but Goggin said he will likely still come back to retire in Le Sueur. Despite leaving, he expressed a deep connection to Le Sueur. “I liked working for the community, three blocks from my home. “Grand Rapids is a very progressive community and school district. There’s a lot of things going on up there,” he said. The district is one of the fastest growing in the state, currently building two new elementary schools. It also presents some major challenges to the new business manager, including a major busing issue, according to Goggin. “Pat has been a fabulous asset to our district and community,” he said. “In time I’ve been here, worked very closely and he’s exactly what you envision a business manager being.
