Michigan man in serious condition after crash on I-70 near West Street - Fox 59

(July 27, 2015)– The Indianapolis Fire Department (IFD) says inattentive driving led to an accident on I-70 near West Street Monday afternoon. Witnesses told firefighters that traffic heading eastbound was slowed, when a white Ford F-450 couldn’t stop and changed from the far left lane to middle lane before running into a black Ford Taurus. The Taurus ended up underneath the stopped semi truck, trapping the driver. After extrication, the driver, a 25-year-old Michigan man, was taken to Eskenazi Health in serious condition. IFD says the driver of the semi, 41-year-old David Lee Pittman, was not injured. The 79-year-old driver of the F-450 got out of the car on his own and was taken to Eskenazi Health in good condition.
