Pickwith and Paz noted the increasing number of residential burglaries and lack of calls from neighbors who might have seen something that didn’t seem “quite right,” they noted. Fenner, policeman Jay Alvarado and Retired Senior Volunteer Patrol members Marlou Faustini and Yolanda Valdez — and directed them to come up with ideas to increase citizen call-ins. Alvarado coined the most succinct slogan for the outreach effort: “When In Doubt, Call Us Out, No Call To Small: 909-596-1913. ” The committee also designed the graphics put on a Ford F-150 truck and driven around town by police officers,...
