Ferndale man swerves pickup to miss deer, crashes in Okanogan County - Bellingham Herald

A Ferndale man was in stable condition Monday, June 1, hours after totaling his pickup and camper in a crash in Okanogan County, according to the Washington State Patrol. Robert Edward Wilkinson, 60, swerved to the right to avoid a deer in the road around 8:45 a. m. as he drove his black Ford F-250 south on State Route 153, also known as the Methow Valley Highway, about three miles northwest of Pateros. The pickup and camper were totaled, said Trooper Darren Wright. Troopers cited him for driving with wheels off the road and driving with a suspended license.
