DC area forecast: Toasty today and Tuesday, then cooler through Friday - Washington Post (blog)

Today and Tuesday definitely have more a June or even July feel than May, but some relief from this early dose of heat and humidity is coming. But a warm front tries to punch through the region Friday, giving the weekend more of a summery feel once again but some shower and storm risks as well. Today (Monday): Some early morning fog is possible, then skies become partly sunny. What’s left of one-time Tropical Storm Ana coasts by well to our east later today (over the Delmarva), which is where you’ll most likely find the majority of its rain. Nevertheless, it’s humid enough here (dew points in the upper 60s) that we can’t rule out a shower or storm (20-30 percent chance, highest for our eastern suburbs), especially in the afternoon and into the evening. Highs should be in the low-to-mid 80s, with a few upper 80s not out of the question south of town. Tomorrow (Tuesday): This is probably going to be the hottest day of the year so far, has a chance to be our first 90+ day, and will be our 10th straight day at 80 or higher. It’s not as humid as Monday, but highs reach the upper 80s to around 90 under partly to mostly sunny skies. There’s only an outside chance (less than 20 percent) of a shower or storm despite a cold front passing. Winds from the south become out of the west at 10-15 mph, gusting to 20-25 mph.
