2013 Audi A4 Review - MotorTrend Magazine

The 2013 Audi A4 and its hot S4 sibling have undergone a mild mid-cycle refresh, which includes the new Audi family front end among other exterior updates, and a plush new interior. The A4 is available in front-wheel drive paired with a continuously variable transmission, or with Audi's Quattro all-wheel drive system and either a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic. The driver-centric QAudi S4 gets a bigger engine and standard all-wheel drive, with a choice of six-speed manual or quick-shifting seven-speed dual-clutch transmissions. Audi will tell you the S4 is turbocharged ("mechanically turbocharged" when really pushed), but to us the S4's 3. 0-liter V-6 that makes 333 hp and 325 lb-ft of torque is supercharged in nature. Not surprisingly, the four-cylinder-powered A4 nets better fuel economy than the sport-themed S4. In front-drive form the A4 nets 24/31 mpg city/highway on the EPA test cycle. With the six-speed manual and all-wheel drive, the A4 is rated 22/32 mpg, while the automatic-equipped A4 is rated 20/30 mpg, or 20/29 mpg if you opt for the E85-capable engine. The S4 is rated 17/26 mpg with the manual transmission, and 18/28 mpg with the dual-clutch. Source: www.motortrend.com
