2010 Audi S5 Coupe, an AW Drivers Log - AutoWeek
There's a perfect mix of luxury and sport in the S5, which is unmatched in the luxury segment. The only thing I found myself wanting during my go-around with this particular S5 was the six-speed manual instead of the automatic transmission. In regular drive mode, it smoothly runs through the gears, and when you put it in sport mode, it's quicker to downshift when your right foot demands it and will hold a gear right up to redline. It just pulls all the way through the band with a subtle exhaust note at lower revs and a booming one near the top end. This really is a sweet V8, which I do miss in the S4 and wish Audi would have kept in the S5 cabriolet. I'm just glad Audi kept it for the S5 coupe. As most of us here at AutoWeek have written at one time or another, the A5/S5 is one of the more stunning members of the Audi family. The proportions are right, Audi's signature grille is at its best on the front end and the crisp, flowing lines all create quite the looker. On the inside, the S-line seats are supportive and comfortable, and the latest iteration of Audi's MMI with the Siruis satellite radio function which tells you what's playing. Source: autoweek.com
