With trial and testing on vehicles we ourselves service, our kits optimize performance, quality, and value through the use of multiple compounds (NBR, HNBR, EPDM). All the green o-rings in our kits are peroxide cured EPDM, which we use in the most vulnerable locations for its excellent high temperature tolerance (150C/300F), chemical resistance to glycol based coolants, and low temperature flexibility -- the last of which comes into play during winter when coolant leaks tend to develop during the cool down cycle . We have transitioned these kits to more of these epdm o-rings for the most vulnerable and highly stressed connections.
These o-rings seal the BMW press & clip hose connections. In addition, we also include o-rings for the heat exchanger (3x 17111711987) and temperature sensor in the lower radiator hose (1743299 or 13621743299).
Included is a packet of water based lube, which can be used on all coolant connections.
Please do not use these green o-rings on any connections that will come in contact with petroleum based products.
