Woman dies after being struck by RV - Quad City Times

A Fourth of July family outing turned into tragedy Saturday when an out-of-control recreational vehicle slammed into a car full of children at a Davenport gas station. Before careening into the parked car, the RV struck and killed a woman standing near it. Police identified her as Mary LeMay, 74 of Centerville, Tenn. She was standing outside of the RV guiding the driver, her husband, into a parking space at the time of the accident. , rushed to the aid of his 8-year-old son, his nephew and his two nieces, who were stranded in the car. The RV had struck the parked car and shoved it up against several propane tanks outside the entrance to the convenience store. To get to the children, McGowan said that only the back, driver's side passenger window of the wedged car was accessible. Kennesha McGowan said she was walking out of the store when someone yelled to her to duck out of the way of the oncoming RV.
