Kingsport man indicted in robbery, carjacking - Kingsport Times News

David Scott Henegar was indicted earlier this month in U. S. District Court in Greeneville on a four-count indictment charging him with robbery, carjacking and two counts of possession of a firearm during a violent crime. According to court records and Kingsport police, Henegar entered the Mountain States Pharmacy on East Stone Drive around 10:30 a. m. on May 26, brandishing a handgun and demanding prescription medications. Pharmacy employees complied with Henegar’s demands and filled his backpack with Oxycodone, Alprazolam and other prescription drugs. Henegar then fled the scene to a nearby Roadrunner Market on North Eastman Road and carjacked a 1999 Buick LeSabre. Police say the female driver had just completed fueling her vehicle when Henegar approached her and asked for a ride to the Kingsport Greenbelt. When she refused, Henegar allegedly carjacked the female victim at gunpoint, forcing her to drive him to the Greenbelt. Prosecutors say Henegar eventually switched places with the female victim and drove to the Greenbelt. Once there, Henegar left the vehicle, only to return immediately to retrieve the backpack full of prescription drugs and demand the female victim hand him her cell phone and the handgun he used during the robbery.
