Cadillac driver tries to flee after hitting 2 women - fox5sandiego.com

— Two women were seriously injured in Escondido Thursday when they were struck by a Cadillac driven by a man who attempted to run from the scene, police said. The victims were on a sidewalk when they were struck about 4:05 p. m. at the intersection of Escondido Boulevard and Lincoln Avenue, according to Escondido police Lt. Ed Varso. The driver of the Cadillac CTS, identified as 21-year-old Escondido resident Joshua Villavicencio, ran from the scene but an Escondido police detective located him two blocks away and he was taken into custody after a brief foot chase, Varso said. The cause of the crash is under investigation, but police believe alcohol was a factor, Varso said. Source: fox5sandiego.com
