Donation helps Center for People in Need provide car to low-income mom - Lincoln Journal Star

The Center for People in Need recently gave one of its clients an automobile after receiving a donation from David Nicholson, President/CEO of Nicholson and Associates of Lincoln. Nicholson said he wanted to donate the car rather than sell it, so he proceeded to contact the Center for People in Need. “I knew the Center for People in Need would find just the right family for this car,” Nicholson said. The center gave the donated car to Melissa Beam, a Lincoln mother of two who’s going through the center’s Access to Computer Technology program, which helps low-income students pursue higher education and receive 45 free credit hours at Southeast... “Melissa had just been telling us that she was having transportation problems and needed a car,” said Beatty Brasch, executive director of CFPIN. Surprised by the news, Beam said it was a “blessing” to receive the car. Beam’s children are ages 14 and 16. “We are very gratified that we were able to help Melissa and her kids,” Brasch said. Brasch said the Center for People in Need accepts donated automobiles that do not require repairs. Source: journalstar.com
