Sexual assault reported during golf event at country club - ThisWeekNews
The New Albany Police Department is investigating an alleged sexual assault that occurred between 6 and 7:30 p. m. July 16 at the New Albany Country Club, 1 Club Lane. Police Chief Greg Jones said the department is interviewing witnesses to determine what happened and it is too early in the process to classify the incident. Detective Kevin Deckop said the incident occurred outside but the location has not yet been identified. "We know it was not in the building but we are not sure where outside (it occurred)," he said. The alleged crime was reported at 5 p. m. July 18, according to the police report. Jones said it takes several weeks to finalize a case of sexual assault before any charges can be filed.
