Crabtree's manslaughter trial begins Oct. 12 - Bullard News

The suspect charged with two counts of intoxication manslaughter after causing an alleged drunk driving wreck on Farm-to-Market Road 2493 in March, killing two members of the Brook Hill community, will head to trial in October. The presiding judge over the court is Judge Jack Skeen, Jr. Crabtree recently made an appearance in front of the court, which was a formality, according to the Smith County District Attorney’s Office. A total of six people involved in the Brook Hill School community were in an SUV that was involved in a deadly head-on collision on Old Jacksonville Hwy. According to reports, Dana Regester, 41, the Associate Director of Special Events at Brook Hill, was driving a 2013 Chevrolet Traverse traveling northbound toward Tyler and was struck head-on by Crabtree’s 2002 Dodge Ram pickup. Inside Regester’s vehicle were Brook Hill senior in- ternational student Pasha Zapolskyy, junior Caleb Chadwell, as well as Regester’s children: Kyle, Ashlee, and Amie. Zapolskyy, 18, was transported to a local Tyler hospital, where he later died as a result of his injuries. Zapolskyy helped lead the team to the State Semifinal game in 2014 and the State Championship game in 2015. The wreck also injured three of Regester’s children: Kyle, Ashlee and Amie.
