Someone broke out the front window at Brooklyn’s bar, 1254 Eureka Road, at about 2:30 a. m. July 31. A barmaid said she and several others were cleaning the bar when, all of a sudden, the front window was shattered. Police said the glass block window is very thick and must have been damaged by a blunt object. Damage was estimated at over $1,000. A spare tire was stolen from the rear of a 2006 Jeep parked in back of Wyandotte Animal Hospital, 4448 Biddle Ave. The theft occurred July 30, but was reported the following day. The Rockwood resident, who works at the hospital, said she noticed the tire missing when she stopped to get gas. Police received two separate calls about a drunken man pulling on a door handle of a vehicle in the area of Eureka Road and 17th Street on the afternoon of July 31. A 36-year-old Wyandotte woman reported that someone entered her locked 2008 Chrysler 300 and stole her purse from underneath the seat. An employee at Prush’s Bar and Grill, 1212 Eureka, reported at about 2 a. m. Aug. 1 someone had broken the driver’s-side door window of her 2009 Ford Escape and stole a backpack.
