LAMOTTE TOWNSHIP, MI — A 17-year-old fell asleep behind the wheel of a PT Cruiser before crashing in Michigan's Thumb, the Sanilac County Sheriff's Department reports. About 6:55 a. m. Tuesday, July 7, Sanilac County Central Dispatch received a 911 call reporting a single-vehicle injury accident on Sanilac Road near Decker Road in Lamotte Township. A 2004 Chrysler PT Cruiser driven by 17-year-old Katelyn Frostic of Applegate was traveling east on Sanilac Road when she fell asleep, police said. The vehicle left the road and entered the ditch on the north side of the road where it continued to travel east until the vehicle struck a field drive embankment, according to investigators.
