Former Marblehead Mayor Plottner remembered for service - Port Clinton News Herald

“He always put everyone else ahead of himself,” said Jordan Plottner, Steve’s son, who works as the spokesman for the Ohio House Democrats. “Public service, the work that he’s done in public relations, and even his personal works with writing and poetry — he really put his whole heart into,” Jordan said. Plottner had been with LHS Family & Youth Services since 1991, coming on first as a placement coordinator before becoming assistant director. Before LHS, he worked as a publisher at SMS Publications in Evanston, Illinois. Jordan said his father was an avid writer and poet, with works appearing in poetry journals, trade publications and scripts, and for a time, he blogged for The News Herald. In 2000, Plottner was elected mayor of the village of Marblehead, where his public service was appreciated greatly and he was beloved by the community. Jacqueline Bird, current Marblehead mayor, credits Plottner and the extra time he spent showing her the ropes when she was first appointed to fill a vacant council seat in 1997 with the experience she gained during that time and used from then on....
