Two men allegedly drag racing have been charged in a crash that killed two parents in Robbins last Thursday and orphaned three children, Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart announced. The Robbins Police Department requested an investigation by sheriff’s police into the accident termed by a Robbins fire captain as “one of the worst accidents I’ve ever seen. 27, McGrew, driving a black Buick Regal, and Stevenson, driving a gray Nissan Altima, were allegedly racing their vehicles at a high rate of speed northbound on Central Park Avenue. Sheriff’s police said both cars ran a stop sign at 137th Street and struck a 2010 Chrysler Town and Country minivan. The impact killed Chires Davis-Jones, 43, of Robbins, and her front seat passenger, Less Jones, 59. Their three children, who were riding in the back of the minivan, were taken to area hospitals for treatment where they remain hospitalized in... McGrew and his male passenger were taken to an area hospital for treatment. Stevenson and a male passenger in his Nissan Altima were brought to an area hospital for treatment.
