Driver crosses lane, crashes into car in front of gym - St George News

A man driving a silver Dodge Intrepid east on 400 North crossed 700 West, then suddenly crossed over the left lane, drove up the curb and crashed into the Volkswagen Jetta parked in front of Cedar City Jiu Jitsu & MMA, Cedar City Police Cpl. Police were dispatched to the crash by Cedar Public Safety when a witness called it in at 12:34 p. m. “I don’t know where (he) was headed to,” Suttlemyre said. Two female passengers, one juvenile and one adult, were with the man in the Intrepid. Airbags deployed in the crash, Suttlemyre said, although he didn’t know if the people had been wearing seat belts. The owner of the Jetta was inside the gym where her car was parked when the crash occurred. She said she didn’t see anything but this is the second time something like this has occurred since she recently acquired the car. “It’s gotten in like two issues since I’ve owned it,” she said, noting she felt like the car has bad luck. The biggest concern of the day, though, for the Jetta owner was finding someone to cover her shift at the troubled youth facility where she works, she said, as her shift was scheduled to begin shortly.
