Sports-car dreams fulfilled at Coliseum - Fort Wayne Journal Gazette

The parking lot at Memorial Coliseum looked and smelled like a lot like a race track Saturday morning. The cars were there courtesy of Gotham Dream Cars, a company from Englewood, New Jersey, that specializes in exotic car rentals and experiences. The company was in Fort Wayne on Saturday hosting its Dream Car Sprint which, according to the Gotham Dream Cars website, is “a fast-paced autocross event that tests your skills behind the wheel of some of the world’s greatest exotic sports cars. “We’ve had everybody come out and do this, from a young married couple where the wife bought it for her husband, and we’ve also had 85-year-old women out here that said it was the best thing they’ve ever done,” said Mikey Dengel, the event manager... I arrived about 8:15 a. m. Saturday, shortly before the event opened to the public, and was greeted by two exotic cars – a Ferrari F430 and a Lamborghini Guillardo – idling next to each other at the start of the makeshift track. As I approached the Ferrari’s driver-side door, my heart rate began to rise. Compared with the Ferrari, my four-door sedan might as well be a horse-and-buggy. Source: www.journalgazette.net
