Three traffic fatalities reported in El Dorado County during past week - Sacramento Bee

The California Highway Patrol is investigating three fatal crashes, including one involving a pedestrian, that occurred on El Dorado County roads in the past week. Barbara Bunch, 81, of Camino was walking from the north side of Pleasant Valley Road to the south side, just east of Church Street, as Joshua Dirickx, 36, of El Dorado was traveling westbound on Pleasant Valley Road in a blue 1999 VW Jetta. The CHP says Tina Damron, 40, of Georgetown was driving a white 1996 Ford Taurus north on Cold Springs Road with Marcie Butler, 38, of Georgetown in the front passenger seat. Witnesses and the passenger reported that the vehicle’s brakes were not working and the vehicle rolled through the stop sign at Highway 49 and into Coloma. The vehicle continued straight as the road curved 90 degrees, leaving the road, striking a tree stump and overturning. The third crash is believed to have occurred Saturday night in the Grizzly Flat area, but the victim was not located until Sunday night. The CHP responded to a call at 9:25 p. m. Sunday reporting a traffic collision involving a motorcycle and discovered the body of a man, identified as Robert Johnson, 31, of Grizzly Flat. An investigation determined that Johnson had last been seen about 9 p. m. Saturday riding his 1993 Yamaha YZ250 motorcycle south on Grizzly Flat Road. Source: www.sacbee.com
