Newton commissioner proposes no-kill animal shelter - Rockdale Citizen

COVINGTON — Newton County District 1 Commissioner John Douglas called on fellow commissioners Tuesday to consider moving toward a no-kill animal shelter. Douglas, who said he adopted two beagles from the Newton County Animal Shelter a couple of years ago, said establishing a no-kill shelter was part of his campaign platform, and he asked commissioners to “energize the Animal Control board to begin... District 4 Commissioner J. C. Henderson said he liked the idea of moving toward a no-kill shelter.
