Hummel: Trade activity should be brisk - STLtoday.com

Starting pitching is at the top of nearly ever club’s wish list and there are a couple dozen hurlers that could attract attention. Free-agent-to-be David Price of Detroit tops that list, which also includes free-agent-to-be Johnny Cueto of Cincinnati and Philadelphia lefthander Cole Hamels, who is not a rent-a-player but one who has a contract calling for him to receive $23.... Cueto, whose team has no chance. Of those three, Cueto seems the most likely to go by next weekend, with Hamels a close second. The Texas Rangers have the prospects, for instance, to take a run at Hamels while Toronto might be a destination for Cueto. The incoming Philadelphia management team, headed by new president Andy MacPhail, has a chance to make a signature trade for Hamels but must get at least one top young pitcher in return.
